Tailgating is dangerous mainly because:
- The vehicle in front blocks your view of the road ahead and you lose reaction time — correct answer
- It uses more fuel
- It wears out your brakes faster
Why
You cannot see what is developing ahead, and you have no time to react if the driver in front brakes suddenly. (Section 8, Tailgating.)
Practise this in the real format
Reading one answer is not the same as sitting the test. The simulator runs the first-time adult form: 36 questions, 6 mistakes allowed, 83% to pass.
