- In the front seat if buckled
- In a child safety seat or booster seat in the back seat — correct answer
Why
A child under 8, or shorter than 4 ft 9 in, must ride in a child passenger restraint system in a rear seat. Narrow exceptions allow the front seat, for example when there is no rear seat. (Handbook, Section 8.)
